Everything starts with a song. Smiley’s impeccable attention to songwriting is one thing that has always set him apart, and remains crucial in his approach from live performances, recording, and the true heart of an artist.
With over 50 top 10 songs, and 25 #1 songs to his name, Smiley’s career started as a songwriter with Sparrow Records/Universal Music, BMG Music Publishing, Curb Records, and Word Music Publishing.
“The coming together of different personalities in a room creating something that 10 minutes before never existed is an amazing thing to be a part of. Crafting and nurturing an idea from its infancy to fruition, whether it be the melody, the chords, the structure, or the lyric, is something that still energizes me.”
He also offers his songwriting skills, collaborating with new songwriters and artists, and offers publishing and production of songs through his 3 publishing companies below:
Mission Group Music / ASCAP
Best Media Group Music / BMI
Mission Vision Music / SESAC
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more information about co-writing or getting your songs published with us.
Here is how it works:
Step 1: Send an email to email@example.com with completed SCA agreement. Please understand that we cannot listen to or accept outside material without a completed SCA (Song Critique Agreement) form. This completed form makes it possible for us to work with you and your song. Once we have your SCA on file, you can send us as many songs as you like.
Step 2: Send us payment via the PayPal button below. The price is $40 per song. Choose between 1, 2, or 3 song submissions. For a 3-song submission, the price is $100.
Step 3: Once we send you confirmation that your SCA has been received; you can then send us an mp3 of your song(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org. That is the only form of music we will accept. For future submissions you can submit your songs immediately following confirmation that your PayPal transaction is complete.
What to expect back:
You will receive your critique back in a Word Doc form within 14 days. The critique will provide you with our feedback in detail broken down by each section of your composition. We will be honest and give you the kind of constructive criticism that will help you improve your skills. As producers and songwriters, we are providing insight as to why we would or would not record your song.
We will not share your song with anyone outside of our office. If we really love your song and think it is a pitchable song that stands a chance to be cut, we will let you know the necessary steps that you could take.
